New Talks Over Tesco Closure

It's hoped urgent talks between Councillors and the owners of the Postings Shopping Centre can commence next week.

There are fears for the centre in Kirkcaldy after its biggest tenant, Tesco, announced on Wednesday that the store is to close in April.

Around 189 supermarket jobs are under threat as a result.

Concern has also been expressed about the future of the town's main post office, which is situated within the supermarket.

Local MP Gordon Brown has called for a moratorium on the closure.

Council leader David Ross is to hold a private meeting with Tesco bosses on Monday afternoon.
