Nearly 150 jobs set to be lost in South Queensferry

The closure of a steel foundry in South Queensferry will cause almost 150 redundancies by the end of the year.

Progress Rail Services is set to shut down its site to move work abroad.

147 workers will lose their jobs, including many from Fife.

Redundancies are set to start on 30 November with dismissals due to finish by the end of December.

Unite the union has appealed to the both the Scottish and UK Governments to intervene after being formally notified of the plans.
