MSPs To Vote on Historic Tax Bill

Members of the Scottish Parliament have the chance today to create history.

They'll vote on the Revenue Scotland and Tax Powers Bill which, if passed, will herald the creation of Scotland’s first tax collection system in 300 years.

The passing of this Bill will establish Revenue Scotland as the tax authority responsible for collecting and managing the Land and Buildings Transaction Tax and Scottish Landfill Tax.

Those are the two devolved taxes due to come into operation next April.
