MSPs: 'Parent' Shouldn't Mean 'Mother'

A committee of MSPs is challenging what it says it the marginalisation of fathers in society.

And a report from the Equal Opportunities Committee is urging the NHS in Scotland to work with councils and others groups to end the presumtion that 'parent' means mother.

It says fathers who wanted to take part in bringing up their children, had told of being excluded from pre- and post-natal classes and support networks.
