MS 'wonder drug' given EU approval

A new drug for the condition has been approved for use in the EU.

Tecfidera is a tablet for people with relapsing-remitting MS, the most common form of the disease, and is said to significantly reduce relapses and delay disability progression.

Approximately 100,000 people in the UK suffer from the condition which currently requires treatment given through injections.

The treatment will be assesed by the Scottish Medicines Consortium shortly.
