Miliband 'Must Break Silence On Lamont'

Ed Miliband must break his silence over Johann Lamont's resignation as Scottish Labour leader, say the SNP.

The Nationalists' are adding pressure to their political rivals, with no word from the UK Labour leader despite Ms Lamont resigning suddenly on Friday.

She said the was being run like "a branch office" of Westminster, with claims emerging she couldn't take a stance on the 'bedroom tax' until Mr Miliband decided his.

Ms Lamont has also claimed MPs undermined her and plotted her downfall during the independence referendum.

Former First Ministers Lord McConnell and Henry McLeish have since questioned the direction and purpose of the Scottish Labour Party.

But one MSP who's ruled out replacing Ms Lamont, says the party is united and positive about the upcoming campaign.
