Miliband In Edinburgh

Labour leader to deliver speech on Scotland's place in the UK.

The Labour leader will today make a plea for the people of Scotland to be part of his mission to change Britain.

In a speech in Edinburgh, Ed Miliband will highlight the vital role that Scotland has played in the United Kingdom over the past 300 years.

His visit comes as the SNP claims his leadership is more unpopular than ever in Scotland.

Adam Smith, Keir Hardie and John Smith are a few of the Scots Mr Miliband will praise for their roles over the history of the Union.

He’ll also recognise the deep desire for economic and social change in Scotland because of the cost of living crisis.

And he’ll claim the next Labour Government will write the next chapter in the battle against low pay.

But the SNP says opinion polls show only 9% of Scots think Mr Miliband looks like a Prime Minister and half think he’s been a weak party leader.

MSP Sandra White says the risk of another Tory Government is a clear and present danger for Scotland.
