McDermid Ladies vow to make women's football and Scotland safer for all women and girls

The players of McDermid Ladies have expressed their commitment to making women's football and Scotland safer for all women and girls.

A Tweet has been shared by Tyler Rattray, the side's captain, on International Women's Day.

The team split from Raith Rovers last month after the signing of David Goodwillie, which the Kirkcaldy club has apologised for and also said that they would not play him.

Goodwillie and David Robertson, with whom he used to be team-mates with at another club and is now retired from playing football, were branded as rapists in a civil court case in 2017 and were ordered to pay £100,000 of damages to a woman.
