Man pronounced dead after being recovered from water at harbour in Fife

A man has been pronounced dead after he was recovered from the water at a harbour in Fife.

Police said they were alerted about a man being in the water at Buckhaven Harbour at around 11.35am this morning.

The coastguard was also made aware just before 11.40am and it provided assistance.

There was also help from the Kinghorn lifeboat.

Meanwhile, Police Scotland said inquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson from the force said: "We were made aware of a man in the water at Buckhaven Harbour around 11.35am on Wednesday, 15 September, 2021.

"The man was recovered from the water but was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
