Man named by police after he died following diving incident near Kinghorn

Police have named the man who died after getting into difficulty during an organised dive near Kinghorn beach at the weekend.

He was 45-year-old Les Elder from Saline.

Officers were alerted about the incident at around 9.55am on Sunday (10 April).

Although Mr Elder was recovered from the water, he passed away a short time later.

His family, who have asked for privacy, have described him as a "much loved family man".

In a statement, the family said: "Les was a much loved family man and will be missed by everyone who knew him."

Police Scotland says that a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
