A pensioner is currently being treated in an Edinburgh hospital following an altercation outside a pub.
Police were called to the Otter's Head in the Woodside area at approximately 7.15pm last night.
The 66-year old was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy before being transferred to the Western General in the capital where his condition is described as 'serious but stable'
Officers have confirmed that a 62-year old man is currently in custody.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
