Man In Court After Kirkcaldy Abduction and Robbery

A man appeared in court yesterday accused of abducting a taxi driver and forcing him to rob a bank.

Cabbie Alistair Rankin was allegedly forced to enter the Bank of Scotland branch in Kirkcaldy's Mitchelston Industrial estate and rob it on November 11.

Andrew Alexander Patrick, 40, of Lochgelly, Fife, appeared in in Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court facing charges of abduction and robbery during a brief hearing.

The case was continued for further examination.
