Man Charged After Dog Killed By Off-Road Bike

The white Saluki dog was hit during and incident in Methil on Sunday afternoon.

A 32-year-old man's been charged after a dog was killed by an off-road bike in Methil.

The white Saluki was knocked down while out on a walk with its owner on waste ground near Mulberry Crescent in Methil on Sunday afternoon.

The man will now be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for culpable and reckless conduct.

Officers say they're continuing efforts to curb off-road motorbikes in the area, and hope this incident will hit home with illegal riders.

Sergeant Mike Collins of Levenmouth said: "This irresponsible and careless act in a popular walking area left a pet dead and an owner distraught.

"Our local action plan, Ducatti, continues to address the problem of off-road motorbikes in the local area and I would like to thank the local community for their continued support.

"I hope this incident will hit home with those individuals who have chosen to ignore previous advice on the dangers of this illegal activity."
