A Kirkcaldy teacher has been telling Kingdom FM about her charity fundraiser campaign after recently winning £20,000 on Beat The Chasers.

Rachel Richardson appeared on the programme which was broadcast on STV last Thursday.

She defeated four of the chasers to win the money in the final timed head to head round and had just one second left on her own clock while they ran out of time on theirs.

Rachel teaches English at St Andrews High School and is also a guidance teacher.

She is running an online fundraiser for Cancer Research UK, after she lost her older sister to a brain tumour in 2011.

Rachel is aiming by her 50th birthday next January to lose a total of 50 pounds in weight.

The fundraiser's £1,000 target has already been reached.

Rachel launched it on the day after her appearance on the programme.

Speaking to Dave and Vanessa from our breakfast show, you can hear the secondary school teacher talk about both the moment she knew she had won after host Bradley Walsh asked the last question to the chasers and her fundraiser:

Beat The Chasers, based on ITV's original show The Chase, allows contestants to take on up to all five chasers at once to win a large cash prize.

Those participating play a 'Cash Builder' round first by answering multiple choice questions.

If a contestant gets at least £1,000 in that opening round, they can then go on to try to win the money by taking on a minimum of two of the chasers in the final round.

Alternatively, the participant can instead take on more chasers for bigger sums of cash, usually against a tighter time limit.
