Lights go out to mark WW1 centenary

Fifers are being encouraged to mark the anniversary of the First World War tonight by turning their lights off for an hour.

Fife Council is marking the 100th anniversary by taking part in the national ‘Lights Out’ campaign and is encouraging others to do the same.

Communities across the country are being invited to turn their lights off between 10pm and 11pm this evening, leaving a single light or candle on for a shared moment of reflection.

Fife Provost Jim Leishman says he'll be turning his lights out and hopes other Fifers will join him:
