Labour: UK Must Take More Refugees

The UK will accept 20,000 refugees over 5 years

Westminster and Holyrood need to work together on the refugee crisis.

That is according to Scottish Labour, as an emergency debate on the situation is held by MPs. The party say 20,000 refugees over 5 years isn't enough, and that more need help now.

Germany is allowing many more than this - and some are predicting as many as 800,000 migrants will have moved there by the end of the year. 

Fife council leader David Ross says the Kingdom's ready and willing to play its part in providing assistance.

Ian Murray, the shadow Scottish secretary, is calling for clarity from the govenment over their figures. He doesn't want the issue to be fought over across the border:
