Kingdom FM heads onto the 'Park Gowf' course as unique type of golf played in Japan and the US arrives in Fife

A unique type of golf played in Japan and the United States has arrived for the first time in Scotland in Fife, with Kingdom FM getting the chance to see how it's played.

Dunnikier Park Community Golf in Kirkcaldy recently got given more than £10,000 to develop Park Golf, or "Park Gowf" as it's to be known here, which is played with just one club and a ball (see how it's played in the video above).

It's to be introduced initially to adults over the age of 16-years-old as a way of improving their physical and mental health and wellbeing, while having fun at the same time, with this form of golf arriving in the Kingdom months before mainstream golf's 150th Open Championship at St Andrews taking place this coming July.

Support for the project has been provided by the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund through Fife Voluntary Action and the Scottish Government, with the money to be used to buy equipment and help publicise and run various events.
