Kevin Thomson resigns as Kelty Hearts boss

Kevin Thomson has quit as Kelty Hearts boss just weeks after leading the club to the League Two title.

His assistant manager Kevin MacDonald has also tendered his resignation.

Both resignations have been accepted by the club's board.

The Fife side are saying in a statement on their website that during recent weeks, it became apparent that Kevin’s aspirations lay away from New Central Park.

They have both been thanked for their efforts whilst with the club.

While Thomson and MacDonald were there, they gained promotion to League One, winning the League Two title by 21 points.

The Maroon Machine also reached the fifth round of the Scottish Cup for the first time ever.

Both have been wished the very best for their careers going forward.

The process to find a new management team has started, with further updates expected as the situation develops.
