Job Creation Plans

A Dalgety Bay online digital TV and video technology firm has announced expansion plans.

Exterity currently employs 70 staff members and has confirmed an additional 20 people will be hired this year. The firm, which also has bases in Asia, Europe and the US, says plans are in place to double the workforce in Fife by 2020.

Exterity was founded in Fife in 2001 and has grown to become one of the world leading providers of IPTV technology. The move follows rising demand for IP video solutions across all regions and market segments in which it operates.

Exterity founder and CEO, Colin Farquhar said:  “This is an important step in the future of Exterity and will enable us to continue offering the best services and solutions to our customers while expanding our corporate functions to meet our global growth objectives. We currently employ over 70 staff,  54 of whom are based here at our HQ in Dalgety Bay and we have plans to hire around 20 more this year. We have always found Fife a great location to grow an international business and as we move to the next stage of expansion, Fife continues to offer the right facilities to support us. Our location in Dalgety Bay also provides excellent access to Scotland’s strong engineering talent pool and will enable us to double our Scottish workforce by 2020.”

Kerry Sharp, Head of Scottish Investment Bank said: “We have been working with Exterity since 2003, and it is exciting to see them moving into new premises to accommodate their growth plans. They are a very innovative business, with impressive international networks and a strong management team and we look forward to continuing to support Colin and the team to deliver on this next phase of growth for Exterity.”

Cllr Lesley Laird, Depute Leader & Spokesperson for Economy & Planning said: “I am delighted that Exterity have committed to continue their expansion in Fife.  Our aim is to make Fife the best place to do business. As well as attracting new businesses, we are always delighted when we can support a company of the calibre of Exterity to stay and grow. Fife is a great location and Exterity have identified the benefits and support that Fife can offer – I wish them well on their future growth and development.”

“Working closely with video over IP experts, Exterity enables us to offer advanced IPTV systems to our growing client base across the UK,” said Jason Cross, Managing Director or FES Support Services Limited. “We’re proud that we can install solutions based on Exterity’s product portfolio that help solve today’s enterprise communication challenges.”
