Investigation launched after kittens dumped in Fife car park

A probe has been launched after three kittens were dumped in a bag in Kirkcaldy last Friday.

They were abandoned outside St Clair Veterinary Group at around 3am on August 13.

One kitten was found dead inside the bag while another had to be put to sleep due to hypothermia.

A third kitten is now receiving treatment for dehydration, fleas and undernourishment.

Scottish SPCA inspector Robyn Gray said: “The kittens were left in a zipped up Aldi cool bag.

“We’re not sure how long the poor things had been left for, as they could have gone unnoticed for a while.

“We appreciate that the person who left the kittens may have intended for the animals to be found by the vets but this is not the right way to give up an animal if you can no longer care for them.

“If anyone recoggnises these animals we would ask that they contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
