Infant Struck By Off-Road Bike

Police in Kirkcaldy are appealing for witnesses after a two year old girl was struck by an off-road motorbike on Tuesday.

The incident happened on the grass area on Templehall Avenue around 2.10pm. The child received minor injuries and was taken to Victoria Hospital.

Community Sergeant Jimmy Adamson, who is leading the investigation, said:

"A 2 year old child was treated for minor injuries following a collision with an off-road motor bike on the grass area on Templehall Avenue, Kirkcaldy about 2.10pm yesterday afternoon.

"The rider of the bike did not stop and remains untraced. The rider is described as wearing a black or grey top and was not wearing a crash helmet. The bike was black in colour.

"We are confident people in the local community will know who was riding this motor bike when it collided with the child and we would encourage them to contact us with the persons name. We do not believe that the collision was deliberate and it appears to be accidental, however, it yet again emphasises the risks and dangers from anti-social use of motor bikes in public places."

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 or via Crimestoppers.
