Improvement In Patient Experience

NHS Fife Chief Executive welcomes the findings of a review into the quality of patient care.

There have been significant improvements in how patients see their quality of care, that's according to NHS Fife.

It says a survey of nearly 500 patients who had an overnight stay in hospital shows a 20% rise in satisfaction for help with food and drink.

11% more people were happy with the hospital or ward environment and there was a 10% increase in satisfaction with care and treatment.

Commenting, Chief Executive of NHS Fife, John Wilson, said:

"I am delighted with the results of the Inpatient Survey. These improvements are testament to the hard work and dedication of our frontline staff, who I would like to thank for their ongoing commitment to patient care across NHS Fife.

"Providing the best possible care for our patients is fundamental to what we do and the fact that our patients are overwhelmingly expressing a satisfaction with our efforts is particularly satisfying."

Mr Wilson added:

"Ultimately, as welcome as these noted improvements are, NHS Fife will continue to strive to ensure that care provision across the region is not only maintained, but built upon over the coming months and years."
