Police confirm that human remains found in Tentsmuir Forrest are those of missing Susan Reid.

Police have confirmed that human remains found in Tentsmuir Forrest are those of a missing Newport woman.

Susan Reid, who was a librarian at Dundee University, disappeared in January.

Last month, officers boarded buses in the Newport area in a bid to find the 56-year old.

Local Area Commander, Chief Inspector Adrian Annandale, said: “The discovery of Susan’s body and subsequent formal identification concludes the missing person enquiry in relation to her disappearance. I would like to thank the people of Newport on Tay and surrounding communities for their assistance and understanding during this enquiry.”
