The Great Tapestry Of Scotland goes on display in Fife from today.

It features over 160 panels detailing the country's entire history and has so far taken 1,00 volunteers more than 50,000 hours to produce.

The artwork depicts famous milestones in Scotlands history, with Fife right at the heart of it, from the likes of King Alexander's death in Kinghorn, to Adam Smith, St Andrews University's formation, and the construction of the Forth Rail Bridge.

Scottish writer Alexander McCall Smith, artist Andrew Crummy and historical writer Alistair Moffat created the piece, which is free to view at the Kirkcaldy Galleries until the 20th September.
