Haines Hopes For Third Time Lucky At Flyers

Last year's captain Kyle Haines is returning to the Fife Flyers next year.

The six foot defenceman from Weyburn, Saskatchewan skated in 51 games in 2014/15, managing 32 points from 10 goals and 22 assists.

He was described as a "key" and "essential personality" in the dressing room, who "leads by example" when named captain by Head Coach Todd Dutiaume and Associate Danny Stewart, who are both back for the 2015/16 campaign.

Haines said: “I'm really excited to be back and help lead the Fife Flyers to a winning season."

"Thanks to Todd, Danny and the rest of the management team for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to return to Fife."

"I've really enjoyed my time in Fife so far and I look forward to returning and having a very successful year. Enjoy the rest of your summer everyone and I’ll see you all at the start of the new season."

The Flyers say they are delighted to have him back.

A club spokesperson added: “Kyle Haines is the epitome of professional both on and off the ice. He prides himself in his on and off ice conditioning and logs as much ice time as is required of him, night in night out. He has been our most consistent player over the past season and a half and we are delighted that he will be back in a Flyers jersey during the 2015/16 season.

“We left no doubt in his mind that we wanted him back in a Flyers uniform and with Kyle confirmed we can begin the process of building a strong and balanced core around him.”
