Growing Intolerances Highlighted

There's been a 500% rise in the number of people being admitted to hospital because of a food allergy.

It's estimated 10 million people in the UK suffer from intolerences, but only a third of them feel they're supported.

Research show that the market for ‘Free From’ food has doubled in the last five years, while one in every 10 new foods launched last year was gluten free.

More than 60% of people also don’t view food intolerance as a serious condition, and more than a quarter have no empathy for people with a food allergy or intolerance and over a third think people make an unnecessary fuss over food allergies.

The study backed by Allergy UK also questioned people with allergies, which saw over half say that in their experience, the public are dismissive of food allergies and intolerance.
