GE15: Campaigners Out And About On Easter Sunday

Nicola Sturgeon has been challenged to rule out holding another independence referendum.

The Scottish Conservatives have called on the First Minister to confirm her position after Alex Salmond said such events should be 'once in a generation'.

Their leader Ruth Davidson said:

“When asked about this in recent weeks, Nicola Sturgeon has simply tried to bat the issue of another referendum away by saying it’s for next year’s Holyrood elections.

“This isn’t good enough.

“Before the referendum, Alex Salmond said it was a once in a lifetime event – now he’s making it clear he thinks Nicola Sturgeon can call one right now."

Elsewhere, the Scottish Labour Leader Jim Murphy is telling voters not to 'look back in anger' ahead of the party's official campaign launch tomorrow.

Liberal Democrat campaigners will be in Edinburgh with their youth activists, where they'll be joined by Secretary of State for Scotland Alistair Carmichael.

The SNP say a "strong team of SNP MPs are needed to put backbone into Labour", after reports that Ed Miliband was under fire from his own MPs over their austerity plans.
