Full details of NHS Fife's community vaccination programme revealed

NHS Fife has revealed full details of its community vaccination programme.

Thirteen venues are being set up across the Kingdom to help with the rollout of the jag to people in their 60s and 70s.

The health board says that by today (Friday February 5) everyone over the age of 80 in the Kingdom will have been offered vaccinations through their GPs.

By February 15 the target is to get the vaccine to all those aged over 65 and the most clinically vulnerable patients.

After that point, the programme will move on to focus on those between the ages of 16 and 64 who are high-risk, and unpaid carers.

Meanwhile this month, GP practices are contacting housebound patients to arrange for vaccinations to take place in their home.

NHS Fife says anyone who needs to rearrange their vaccination can do so via this link. 

People can also phone the vaccination helpline on 0800 030 8013.

It comes as the first of the community vaccination centres have now opened.

Attendance at these sites is by appointment only:

  • Cupar Corn Exchange 
  • Dunfermline East Church
  • Lochgelly Centre
  • Rothes Halls, Glenrothes
  • Templehall Community Centre, Kirkcaldy
  • The Larick Centre, Tayport (part-time)

Further openings are planned as follows:

  • East End Park Stadium, Dunfermline - February 8
  • East Neuk Centre, Anstruther - February 8
  • Parkgate Community Centre, Rosyth - February 8
  • St Andrews Community Hospital - February 8
  • Randolph Wemyss Memorial Hospital, Buckhaven (Wellesley Unit) - February 8
  • Tayside Institute, Newnburgh (part-time) - February 9
  • Oakley Centre (part-time) - February 20
