Forty Mile Run For Fife Cancer Patient

A kind-hearted Fifer is running 40 miles from Rosyth to raise money for a young boy with cancer.

Two year old Kai Laidlaw was disgnosed with leukemia at the age of 18 months. He has lost his left eye and half of his bone marrow is saturated with the disease. He has been sent to Sheffield for treatment, but hospital visits are difficult as his dad, Calvin Laidlaw, suffers from multiple sclerosis.

Peter Goldie from Oakley is running the equivalent of nearly 2 marathons to raise money for him. He said:

"In the last few weeks Kai has been sent for more tests and unfortunately 50% of his bone marrow is saturated with leukemia. He is being sent to Sheffield for more tests, however his dad has MS so this makes hospital visits very difficult for the family. Myself and a work mate are running 40 miles over the 2 bridges. The support from friends and family has been amazing. This wee guy deserves his family beside him as this very hard time."
