Forsyth And Wilson Return To Flyers

Two locals are returning to Fife Flyers for next season.

Defenceman Euan Forsyth and winger Jamie Wilson will be back in Kirkcaldy as the Flyers push for a title next season.

Forsyth returned to the club last year after a short spell at rivals Dundee Stars, while Wilson has been with the club his entire career.

6’1 defenceman Forsyth joined the Flyers last season from EIHL rivals Dundee Stars, however had previously played for the Flyers in the BNL from 2002-2005.

Forsyth also played for the GB U20 team, as well as EPIHL sides Slough Jets, Chelmsford Chieftans and Swindon Wildcats. The Kirkcaldy born native had the following to say on re-signing for the club.

“I am really happy and excited to have signed for the upcoming season. I have worked hard this summer to be ready for the season ahead and I am looking forward to getting back on the ice and playing week in week out, at the level I know I am capable of. The playoff run was fantastic last season and we are looking to recapture that form from the get go.”

“The atmosphere and the fans were great during that run and I can’t wait to play in front of them again.”

Associate Coach Danny Stewart added “Brucie came in last year and gave us some depth on the back end. When he is playing with confidence he plays well for us in our own end and can be relied upon to eat some minutes.”

Head Coach Todd Dutiaume added “Brucie is one of the most popular guys in the room. I know he wants to play a bigger part on ice and has made that clear. From speaking to him he has put the effort in this summer and that will only be a benefit to us as a team if he grabs a full time spot in our line up.”
27 year old Wilson from Kirkcaldy joined the Flyers back in 2003, and has played for them in the BNL, NPIHL and EIHL.

Jamie had the following to say on re-signing for the Flyers “I’m glad to have re signed for the 2014-15 season with the Flyers. I’m sure this upcoming year is going to be an exciting one for the whole organisation.”
“We hope to build on last year’s achievements and it looks like Todd and Danny are putting together a good solid team.”
Associate Coach Danny Stewart added “It's good to get Jamie back for another season. He's a character in the room and provides us with some size on the wing. If he can bring a bit more consistency to his game and build on the end of last season then he should factor in on our third line once again.”

Head Coach Todd Dutiaume added “Jamie has been with the club since the BNL days and has previously captained the club. He battled injury the last couple seasons but he's healthy, in good shape and I look to him to play a bigger role this season.”
