Flyers Open Dorr To 2nd Signing

Fife Flyers have announced their second new signing for next season.

26 year old forward Michael Dorr joins for the 2015/16 season after spending a year out with an ankle injury.

The 5’10 174lbs right handed forward from Roseville, Minneapolis, USA has had spells in the ECHL, DEL2, Germany 3 and is a graduate from Minnesota State University.

Dorr finished the 2013/14 season as 2nd top goal scorer in the DEL2, with 32 goals for EC Bad Nauheim, finishing the season with 54 points from 51 games, that equates to 32 goals and 22 assists.

Dorr is "extremely excited" to be a Fife Flyer.

"This is a great opportunity for me and I am working hard in the off-season to put myself in position to have a successful year.” He said.

“I have heard nothing but great things about the fans and organization and I’m looking forward to getting to Kirkcaldy and for the season to begin”

Associate Coach Danny Stewart added "In Michael we are getting a guy that is a proven goal scorer. He took last season off to heal an ankle issue that required surgery but we are very confident he is back in form and will be fully fit for the season ahead."

"In Germany he scored a ton and that's what we will be looking for from him. Two seasons ago he scored 32 goals in the DEL2 which placed him second in the league, ahead of a lot of great players that have had success in the UK and Europe. He will be in our top 6 up front and be an offensive threat for us in all situations".
