Flyers Confirm Another Signing

Luka looking forward to returning to Fife.

Fife Flyers are delighted to confirm that fan favourite Ned Lukacevic will be returning to the Kirkcaldy based club for the 2014/15 season.

The 6’0 left winger joined the Flyers mid-way through the 2013/14 season and instantly impressed with his skating skills and puck handling. Lukacevic has played across North America, Europe and Asia, in leagues such as the AHL, ECHL, Allsvenskan,  and was also a 2004 NHL Round 4 pick by the LA Kings.

With no less than a point a game last season, Lukacevic posted 44 points from 34 games for the Flyers in 2013/14 (15 goals, 29 assists and 88 PIMS). A player who can not only score against opposing teams but can also get under their skin.
Associate Coach Danny Stewart added

“We are thrilled to have Ned back for another season. He was a big part of our success down the stretch last season and when he is on his game he makes our forward setup much more dynamic.”

“There are not many players in this league that have his individual skill and if we can get that out of him night in night out then we and the fans should expect to see a big year from of him.”

Ned added

“I’m very excited to be back with the Flyers organization for another year. The Flyers and the whole community of Kirkcaldy are like a second home to me. ”

“I’m particularly excited to pick up where we left off last season and bring that same type of success to this season. I think we had a great group of guys last season, I really enjoyed being part of that team and made some great friends, I think we had a real dynamic in the room towards the end and it was just such a great feeling. I would like to see a lot of the guys back again next season, to create a real core.”

“I am excited about next season and want to challenge for silverware. Being in the Play-Off Finals weekend was amazing and part of my reason for returning is because I want to be there again next season and go one step further. Thanks to the Flyers organization, especially Tom, Dutes & Stewy for offering me the extension contract, I am delighted to be back on board with the Flyers for next season.”
