First Care Village in Fife Officially Open

The Official Opening of the new Kirkcaldy Care Village was marked yesterday by a ribbon cutting ceremony at Ostlers House.

The £5.35m Ostler's House incorporates a sixty bed care home, 21 extra care and five specific needs bungalows. As well as the care home and housing developments the key features of the care village include day care services and a drop in cafe facility.

Councillor, David Ross, Fife Council Leader, said:

" The completion of the first care village in Fife is a great achievement. Extensive consultation with residents, day care service users, families, staff and other stakeholders has taken place throughout the project and their feedback has been incorporated into the specialized design and layout"
