Firefighters tackling major blaze at former Kirkcaldy school

Firefighters are dealing with a major blaze at the former Viewforth High School in Kirkcaldy this evening.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it was called just before 7:30pm.

It received reports that a fire had taken hold within the building.

Six fire appliances have been dispatched to the scene.

Police have shut Loughborough Road between Aitken Street and Windmill Road in the town.

Officers have also been supporting firefighters during the incident.

Locals have been advised to keep their doors and windows shut due to smoke.
