Final weekend of campaigning for closure-threatened primary school

Parents are campaigning against the planned closure of a Glenrothes school for the final weekend before a crucial council vote.

Campaigners fighting to save a Fife school from closure are out in force this weekend hoping for a u-turn.

Councillors will decide whether or not to shut Tanshall Primary in Glenrothes - along with six others in the region - on Tuesday.

School closures are recommended as part of wider proposals to reduce Fife Council's spending by around 66million pounds within three years.

Fife Council's report which recommends shutting the school says it's 'the most viable way to provide sustainable primary education in this part of Glenrothes.'
