Longannet power station has been criticised in a new report.
According to WWF, CAN Europe and Climate Alliance Germany, the Fife plant is one of the biggest polluters in the European Union.
CO2 emissions levels are high, the facility was 21st out of the "dirty 30" named by the bodies.
Scottish Power says "substantial investment" had been made to ensure Longannet operates within "strict" environmental legislative limits.
