Fife Sports and Leisure Trust to shut all of its facilities due to tougher coronavirus restrictions

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust says it will close all of its facilities from Boxing Day due to tougher coronavirus restrictions.

The Kingdom will move into level four of restrictions on Saturday, like the rest of mainland Scotland.

Closures will remain in place until the Scottish Government allows for sport and leisure facilities to re-open again.

The trust says it will no longer be able to offer access to its facilities and programmes, with the move applying to both adults and juniors.

It also says it will contact those participating in programmes, health and wellbeing programme users, clubs and Leisure Active members directly with more information.

Chief Executive of Fife Sports and Leisure Trust Emma Walker said: "The health and safety of our customers and staff is our number one priority, and we understand that customers, who have been enjoying access to our facilities and programmes since we re-opened our facilities across the region, will be disappointed.

"However, as we have extremely good health and safety and social distancing measures in place, we are in a good position to resume our facilities and programmes as quickly as possible when permitted."
