Fife Sports and Leisure Trust facilities to close amid coronavirus outbreak

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust has announced all of its facilities will close to the public from tonight, amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Its venues will shut from 6pm onwards and remain unavailable until government advice changes to allow them to re-open again in the future.

Leisure Active members and those taking part in Learn to Swim will be contacted directly by the trust.

Membership and swimming classes will be automatically frozen.

Fitness class and health and wellbeing participants will also be informed of the closure, as well as clubs with regular bookings.

Interim Chief Executive of Fife Sports and Leisure Trust Jeph Hamilton said: "To slow the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) the general public are being advised to stay at home as much as possible and avoid unnecessary social contact.

"The health and safety of our visitors and staff is our number one priority.

"We have taken the difficult decision to close all our facilities to the public temporarily and will continually monitor the advice from Government so that we are in a good position to re-open as quickly as possible when appropriate."
