Fife Social Tenants To Get Free Cavity Wall Insulation

Hundreds of social tenants in the Kingdom are set to benefit from more fuel efficient homes.

Fife Housing Group's spending a quarter of a million pounds on properties in Kirkcaldy, Kennoway, Lumphinnans and Lochgelly to make them more fuel efficient.

The money comes from a 4.5 million pound pot from the Scottish government which will be spent on improving social housing across Fife.

It is the first time FHG has bid for the cash and Asset Manager Darren Albury said he was delighted the group had been successful.

“This Green Homes Cashback funding is great news for Fife Housing Group and its customers.  As a social landlord, we are committed to helping our tenants reduce their energy bills and avoid fuel poverty. We also want to put in place measures which will cut emissions and help the environment.  This will allow us to provide much-needed insulation for these flats, keeping more heat in the home and more cash in our tenants’ pockets.”

Work on installing the insulation will be completed by the end of March 2015.
