Councillor Bill Brown

A petition to make a Fife junction safe has been signed by more than 600 people.

It's calling for lighting to be installed and a roundabout created on the B922.

Figures show hundreds of people travel on the stretch everyday between Kinglassie, Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy; however up to 30 cars are often forced to wait to turn during peak times.

It's claimed many drivers are being forced to pull out into oncoming traffic due to heavy congestion.

Councillor Bill Brown is in the process of trying to arrange a meeting with representatives from Fife Council's Transportation Department to discuss the situation.

He says residents in Kinglassie have been calling for safety improvements to be made for many years, especially now that the road is used frequently by heavy lorries.
