Fife Man Charged With Attempted Murder

27 year old Troy McCrae from Newport has appeared in court over an alleged incident last Friday.


A Fife man's appeared in court accused of attempted murder last Friday.
 
27 year old Troy McCrae from Newport is charged with trying to drown a woman by holding her head underwater in a bath until she fell unconscious.
 
He is accused of throwing her against glass at the Brig o' Tay pub in Boat Road, and of grabbing her and restraining her by the throat at a property in the town's Seacraig Court.
 
Prosecutors say he then threw a table against a wall and shouted and swore, demanding she open the bathroom door within the property.
 
It's alleged McCrae kicked the bathroom door repeatedly until it came off its hinges, and then seized his partner by the throat and struck her head off a sink.
 
A further charge states he allegedly punched her on the head then submerged her head under water in a bath until she lost consciousness.
 
McCrae is also accused of assaulting 3 other people on the Friday and Saturday.
 
He made no plea or declaration when he appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court, and was remanded in custody.
