Fife Hosts International Clean Technology Event

A European Cleantech showcase event is taking place in the UK for the first time to promote and drive investment into renewable and clean energy technology, and will be hosted in North Queensferry, Fife.

The event is set to forge relationships between a pan-European group of leading financial and corporate investors, and plug them into Scotland’s network of cleantech entrepreneurs and investors.

Organised by Cleantech Group, a global market intelligence firm that connects corporates and investors to sustainable innovation, the event will enable pioneers of commercial green technologies to network with dozens of potential backers.

The two-day event is designed to help counter the difficulties that small companies have in securing investment funding.

During the ‘Scottish Cleantech pitching session’ investors will hear pitches from the CEOs of leading SMEs who are developing cutting-edge technologies, including 2-B Energy, Cellucomp, Dukosi, NetThings and Sunamp.

Councillor Lesley Laird Depute Leader and Executive Spokesperson Economy and Planning, Fife Council, said: “We are delighted to host this important event that will develop partnerships between start-ups and large companies to drive cleantech innovation. Scotland has a rich heritage in both energy and technology. This is a great opportunity for cleantech sector companies to showcase their pioneering developments and to collaborate with potential investors.

“With our Energy Park at Methil and other innovation initiatives, Fife is at the forefront of renewables. The transition to a low carbon economy presents enormous economic opportunities for companies to develop and implement new technologies. Fife Council is committed to supporting businesses to realise these opportunities and this event is one of the ways that we are working to make the Kingdom the best place to do business.”
