Fife Flyers Announce Signing

Canadian defenceman puts pen to paper.

Fife Flyers IHC are delighted to welcome back fan favourite Kyle Haines. The 6’0 Canadian defenceman from Weyburn, Saskatoon joined the Flyers during the 2013/14 season and was a huge part of the team’s success in the latter half of the season.

Haines joined the Flyers from Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL, and scored 11 goals and 22 assists for 33 points and 75 PIMS from 41 games for the Flyers.

The popular defenceman will wear jersey number #55 once again and said:

“I am very excited to be back in Fife and picking up where we left off last season.  The latter half of the season was the most fun I’ve had playing professional hockey and for that I have to thank the fans, teammates, coaches and all the staff for sticking with us.”

“After coming so close to making it to the Championship game, it is definitely exciting to think about what this season could bring.  I am thrilled that the Directors and Coaching Staff have given me the opportunity to return to Fife.  I met so many great people and had many great experiences during my time in Fife and I look forward to building on those memories and relationships, and winning a lot of hockey games!”

“I hope all the fans are having a great summer and it won’t be long before we are back at the Auld Barn celebrating a victory!.”

Flyers Associate Coach Danny Stewart added

“We’re really excited to get Hainsey back. From his first game, right to the very end of the season, he was extremely consistent for us and made a huge difference to our Powerplay and defensive core.”

“I feel he is an all-around dman who is as good as any other in our league. He keeps it very simple and effective going forward and doesn't make mistakes on the back end.”

“This is another huge re-signing for the club and gives us yet another returning player to build around for the upcoming season.”

Flyers Head Coach Todd Dutiaume added

“When Kyle expressed an interest in returning to Fife, it was an easy decision for us, there was no hesitation in re-signing him.

His arrival was one of the catalysts that helped turn our season around, with his steady and consistent performances. On and off the ice, Kyle is the type of person we want associated with the Flyers, and his return along with Kevin in net has our back end starting to look formidable.”
