Fife Cup Mia Brett Fundraiser

Fifers and football fans are being urged to help raise funds for the daughter of Cowdenbeath player Dean Brett.

Money will go to a fund for Mia, after her twin Mollie died in September and Mum Gemma, 22, passed away a fortnight ago.

The Blue Brazil host Dunfermline in the Fife Cup at 2pm.

Both clubs have agreed to field under 20s teams, which allows for up to 5 senior players.

The match proceeds will be split equally between The Mia Brett Fund and the Fife Football Association.

The club shop will also be open on the day with a percentage of profits also going to the Mia Brett Fund.

Entry will be £5 for adults and £3 for under 16s and OAPs. Season tickets are not valid.

After the game, a fundraiser for the Mia Brett Fund is being held at the Junction Bar at 7pm with entertainment from Jimmy Jack, Claire Adamson and Steve James.

An auction is ongoing with items on offer including a share in Cowdenbeath Football Club, a 2005/6 Scottish Third Division league winners medal and lots of other signed shirts, boots etc donated by fans, players and Cowden legends.

A match programme has been specially commissioned for the tie, with a minimum donation price of £2. 100% of the sales income received will then be donated to the Mia Brett Fund.

The 20 page programme has a front cover featuring Dean, Gemma and Mia celebrating Christmas just a few weeks back.

Blue Brazil manager Jimmy Nicholl says it's been hard for everyone to carry on as normal:
