Fife Council will fly the Palestinian flag over Fife House for a week
It says the move is to raise awareness of and protest against the suffering and death of the people of Gaza.
The flag is likely to go up tomorrow, as the authority doesn't have one at the moment.
Council leader David Ross says the move is not in support of any specific organisation - and it reflects the strength of feeling reflected int he march for Gaza held in Kirkcaldy last weekend, as he told Greg Russell:
