Fife Coast Gets Six Figure Improvement Funds

Hundreds of thousands of pounds is being ploughed into improving the Kingdom's coastline.

£320,000 will be spent on revitalising the Pathhead Sands in Kirkcaldy and walking routes in the North East.

A total of 14 beaches in the region are to receive various safety improvements such-as life jackets.

£275,000 of it is funded by the Big Lottery Fund, with the rest coming from Fife Council and Fife Coast and Countryside Trust.

As part of the plans, the countryside trust hopes to return the Pathead Sands to full beach status, reintroduce the dunes, as well as a path linking it to Ravenscraig Park and the coastal walk route.
