Fife Charities Missing Out On Thousands

Fife charities could be missing out on thousands of pounds worth of funding.

The Lloyds Foundation says the Kingdom is a 'cold spot' for applications, after handing out nearly 1.7 million pounds this year.

Local groups, the Cambo Institute and Forth and Tay Disabled Ramblers, have been awarded £4, 017 respectively.

Mary Craig, chief executive of the foundation, says the money's there to be given away:

Over £150,000 has been handed over by Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland to support the work of thirty three charities across Scotland recently.

Mary Craig OBE, Chief Executive of Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland, said:

“From paying for toys for a new babies and toddler group to funding a Dementia support programme and helping pay for respite breaks for young carers, all these awards through our Henry Duncan Programme will be used to help improve the lives of disadvantaged people across Scotland.

“Local charities make a massive difference in the communities where they work, and twenty two of the awards will be used to help pay for staff to deliver vital work across Scotland. This funding will help bring security not only for the staff but for the people who use the services they provide, and that continuity is extremely important.”

The next deadline for applications to the Henry Duncan Awards Programme is 15th September. Charities can also get one to one advice on applying by getting involved in one of the Foundation’s funding surgeries.
