Fife 'Can Handle' Syrian Refugees

Fife will accept 140 refugees over the next 5 years

Fife is ready, willing and prepared to accept its share of Syrian refugees as soon as next month.

The council is working with the third sector to ensure that support is available to any new arrivals, after voting to welcome 140 migrants, who are escaping war in the Middle East, over the next 5 years.

Charities such as Fife Migrants Forum have been working behind the scenes to ensure than support is available for any new arrivals to the Kingdom.

Funding for the first 12 months is coming from Westminster's aid budget.
