One person's died in a house fire in Leven which broke out yesterday morning around 11 o'clock in Baird Crescent.
Police haven't yet identified the victim.
Officers say enquires are at an early stage but following a joint assessment of the house by the Police and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service it appears the blaze is a tragic accident with no suspicious circumstances.
A police spokesman said:
"We are continuing to make enquires to identify the person found within the house.
"I would like to thank the local community for their patience whilst we carry out our investigations and appeal to anyone who was in the area this morning that may have information to contact the Police using the 101 non-emergency number."
