Family Escape Serious Fire

A Ballingry family have escaped unhurt after a "serious" house fire.

It took 25 firefighters two hours to tackle the roof fire that broke out at around 04.30 yesterday morning at a mid-terraced two storey house in Ballingry Crescent.

The Scottish Fire Service says two adults and four children had left the house before crews arrived, and had alerted their neighbours to the blaze.

Five hours later, crews managed to find the family's young boxer dog "scared but unhurt" hiding under a bed on the first floor.
